A Program of Schools for Children

Ways to Give

Annual Giving

Each year, all the members of the Lesley Ellis community – current parents, alumni families, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of the school – are invited to participate in Annual Giving. We encourage:

  • All current parents to make Lesley Ellis their highest philanthropic priority while their children are at school; and
  • Everyone to give as generously as family circumstances allow.

Giving what you can is an important way to show your support for Lesley Ellis and our children. Every gift contributes to our success.

Capital Giving

Capital giving is how we make our hopes and dreams come true at Lesley Ellis. We will come to all of our families at least once during their Lesley Ellis journey for a capital gift. It is capital gifts from our closest friends and family that are making our new home here at Winter Street possible, and it is capital giving that continues to enhance programming like our makerspace and music room where talents are awakened and our student’s educational experience with us is enhanced.

Jon Pfeifer Memorial Funds

Established in memory of beloved LES teacher Jon Pfeifer, who lost his battle with cancer in 2011, the Jon Pfeifer Memorial Funds honor Jon in two important ways:

  • Financial Assistance. LES is committed to welcoming a diverse community, and this dedicated financial assistance program allows us to increase accessibility to a broader population. We currently offer aid to 25% of our students.
  • Excellence in Teaching Award. Faculty are encouraged to apply for grants that sponsor an academic year of professional development. These opportunities benefit not only the teacher, but also enrich our classrooms and the broader LES community when teachers return and share their experiences. Additionally, money raised through the fund ensures that faculty have time built into their teaching schedules to take courses, attend trainings, conduct research, and to develop curriculum that benefit our whole school. Make a gift to the Jon Pfeifer Memorial Financial Assistance Fund.

Why Giving is Important

Like many other independent schools, Lesley Ellis is funded through tuition, fees for optional vacation and afterschool programs, as well as contributions to Annual Giving and capital campaigns. Annual giving represents a special opportunity for current families and members of our extended community to come together to make a significant impact on the school. Capital campaigns are targeted fundraising effort that takes place over a defined period of time. They typically focus on the bricks and mortar growth and development of the school and have a direct impact on improving programmatic spaces and opportunities.
