Lesley Ellis Ribbon Cutting

Happy hands flew up in exultation and cheers could be heard up and down Winter Street in East Arlington yesterday as students, faculty, parents, and neighbors officially welcomed Lesley Ellis School to the neighborhood.

Although school has been in session for a few weeks, the ribbon cutting for the School took place yesterday, Wednesday, October 11, at 2:30 p.m.

State Senator Cindy Friedman helped Head of School Deanne Benson officially inaugurate the new home of Lesley Ellis School by using, to the delight of the children in attendance, an oversized pair of scissors to cut the ribbon.

Benson recognized the efforts of everyone involved in helping to move the School from its former location on Foster Street to its new home on 34 Winter Street. Senator Friedman talked about Lesley Ellis’ longstanding commitment to outstanding education in Arlington and the surrounding community.
