How to Apply
Applying to Lesley Ellis School is a simple and stress-free process. The basic steps are outlined below, and you can also download our Admission Checklist.
1. Visit Our School
The first step in applying to Lesley Ellis School is to set up a school visit. Tours are available year-round. To set up a tour, please contact one of the following:
- Early Childhood and Elementary (preschool–grade 4)
Email Tricia Moran, Director of Admission or call 781.641.1346
- Middle School (grades 5–8)
Email Anne Norris, Middle School Program Director or call 508.356.7311
2. Submit an Application
The application is due as soon as possible in the fall, but no later than January 15. It may be submitted online before or after you visit the school along with a non-refundable application fee of $40. (Applications received after January 15 will be considered on a rolling basis as space and resources are available.)
3. Submit AISNE Form and Progress Reports
If your child presently attends school or daycare, please ask your child’s current teacher to complete the AISNE Recommendation Form. The teacher / school should send the completed AISNE Recommendation Form along with a copy of your child’s last two progress reports directly to Lesley Ellis School. The AISNE Evaluation Form may be found here. (Preschool applicants may use the form labeled PreK – Grade 1.)
4. Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
Applicants entering grades 5–8 are requested to take the ISEE exam. Alternative standardized tests may be considered in conjunction with a separate visit to Lesley Ellis for an in-house assessment. Please contact Anne Norris for further information.
5. Schedule a Visit for Your Child
School visits provide a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity for your child to experience what it’s like to be a Lesley Ellis student, while giving our teachers and administrators a chance to get to know him/her.
- Preschool, prekindergarten, transitional kindergarten and kindergarten applicants are invited to a small playgroup session.
- Grade 1-4 applicants are invited to spend a morning in one of our classrooms.
- Middle School applicants spend a full day in the classroom.
