Social Studies

Students learn about current and past civilizations, with focus on the social, economic and political institutions and their impacts on past and present day life.

Past and Present

In our social studies curriculum, students learn about the past and present from a variety of perspectives: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology and sociology.  Examples of topics our students cover are “Strong People,” a theme that examines the lives of accomplished individuals throughout history. Another is “Boston,” which through study and multiple field trips, acquaints children with the government, neighborhoods and history of their home city.
