Technology

Beyond the Keyboard

At Lesley Ellis School, we encourage our students to use technology and provide an integrated technology curriculum from prekindergarten through middle school. Using technology to enhance learning is an essential aspect of a Lesley Ellis education. Our school has a fully outfitted computer lab which students use to build their technology skills as well as to research, write and design projects in a variety of subjects.

Students also have access to tools like interactive whiteboards, or SMART Boards, LCD projectors, digital cameras and Flip video cameras. Students use these resources to create multimedia presentations, iMovies, reports and more.  Recently, students in an elementary classroom interviewed their pre-kindergarten “buddies," took photos, wrote text and imported photos to create a series of profiles of the younger students.

This year, Lesley Ellis School pilots its first 1:1 technology program! Students in fifth and sixth grade are each assigned an iPad 2 for use in their classroom.
